This is a really great lesson for us all – and not just for quilters. I’ve said the same, but not as well as Angela does here.
Wish I had seen this video b4 our quilt show this last year. I made my first quilt at age 75 for my grandson with all hand painted dragons (I’m a watercolorist by hobby) but the quilting part was less than perfect & then the long arm quilter did a terrible job on it. I was so discouraged I didn’t even do the show & tell at quilt club or put it in the local quilt show. Wish I had now. Starting my second quilt for another grandchild & will even try to do the final quilting on my little old machine instead of sending it out but I will show it no matter how bad it comes out. Did I say my grandson was/is thrilled with it. Thanks for sharing.
Alice – I’m sure your quilt was wonderful. What little boy wouldn’t love dragons and especially hand-painted by his grandmother! His quilt is definitely unique! Would love to see a photo of it! – I’m so glad to know that you have started a second quilt. In case you are not aware of it, there are many lessons online for how to machine quilt on a home sewing machine. Let me know if you would like some links to them – and thank you so much for sharing your inspirational story!
