Benefits of ePatterns:
-
Savings are passed on to you.
The cost of ink, paper, card stock covers, plastic envelopes, paper envelopes, etc., is deducted from the price of the pattern.
-
No added mailing costs.
-
No waiting involved.
Your pattern can be downloaded immediately after purchase.
-
Patterns are available as PDF files.
This format ensures that patterns print to the correct size.
-
Your pattern can be saved to your computer and/or printed.
We recommend doing both.
Quilter Diane Felice shares her excellent method of storing ePatterns:
"I like to save my ePatterns in my computer and print just the first page or two, which I place in a binder. That way I have the pattern photo and fabric requirements ready for shopping. I print the complete pattern only when I am ready to make the quilt, and then only the pages I need."
-
We can add a lot more to ePatterns - more photos, more illustrations, more diagrams, more ways to set blocks, etc. - because you only need to print the pages you wish.
Our most recent patterns include pages of colour images of quilt and block settings and a variety of fabric colour suggestions. When time permits, these will be added to our earlier patterns as well.
-
You can print the exact number of templates or paper-pieced patterns that you require. No need to take them to a copier or to scan them.
Paper pieced patterns can be printed directly on to paper piecing foundation paper or fabric.
-
ePatterns are just like the patterns sold by mail order and in quilt shops.

Self-Extracting Zip Files
*Some ePattern files are too large to download by dial-up connection and very slow to download even with cable connections.
*Zip Files compress them and make them smaller and quickly downloaded.
*A software program is needed to open them. Reputable, free programs for unzipping files are available on the Internet. One example is Coffee Cup.
*Self-extracting zip files are executable files which include a zip file plus the software to unzip immediately when clicked on.
*Self-extracting zip files enable us to send you very large pattern files and enable you to download them quickly and easily.
*When opening one of these files, the following window will appear:
Choose to Save the file to your computer or to a disk. .
*Our zip files are safe to open. Each has been scanned by our anti virus software.

Printing Templates and Patterns to Size
1. Check your printer settings carefully before printing. Settings can vary and depend upon the make of printer you are using.
2.
Besides following the tips above, be sure that the paper size shown is 8.5 x 11 inches.
3. If you have the option, choose Paper Source by PDF page size.
4. Be sure that “Fit to Page” is NOT checked.
5. Print this sample block and measure it.
It is a 2 inch square from solid line to solid line.
Seam allowances are included. They measure 2.5 inches from dashed line to dashed line.
If your measurements are different, adjust your printer settings.
